Chicago pulled out all the stops on Monday July 12th as well wishers gathered by the thousands at Chicago's Christ Universal Temple to honor and salute Reverend Clay Evans and his sister, Dr. Lou Della Evans Reid in a joint birthday celebration. A 500-voice mass choir comprised of members from over 50 churches sang a medley of songs made famous by Reverend Evans, Dr. Reid and the Fellowship Choir. Preachers and various business and civic dignitaries from across the country, including Savoy Records Producer and Georgia Mass Choir Director Reverend Milton Biggham, National Baptist Convention President Reverend Stephen Thurston, renowned Gospel preacher Reverend W. James Campbell and others gathered to pay tribute to these fine servants of the Lord.

The special guest for the evening was Lady Tramaine Hawkins, who said that she considered Reverend Clay Evans her "East Coast" pastor.
