Chicago has its share of releases setting the summer ablaze. Here’s a short list of projects to be on the lookout for.

Valencia Lacy & Unquenchable Worshippers: The Gathering of Worshippers

Valencia Lacy is no newcomer to the gospel arena. The younger sister of Gospel organist extraordinaire LaVelle Lacy, Valencia paid her dues singing with Light of Love and Visions: A Choral Ministry. She is the writer and lead singer on the "Yes" from Shekinah Glory Ministries’ 2004 Live Project and serves in the music ministry at the Pastor John Hannah’s New Life Covenant Oakwood Church. This is one to be sure to get.

Another release to be looking for is Janet Harris Sutton and the Voices of Acme.

Janet Harris Sutton started directing choirs over 20 years ago at her father’s church, the True Holiness Church of God in Christ in Harvey, Illinois. She honed her skills and became well known as an adept choirmaster and trainer. The Voices of Acme under Sutton’s capable leadership was crowned Best Choir in America after competing in the 2008 Verizon Wireless How Sweet the Sound Choir Competition. They recorded their first live CD/DVD in July, 2009, and the project has an anticipated release date of summer 2010.
