(Photo: St. James Choir) Chicago’s own Queen, Minister Queenie Lenox called the city together from near and far to honor one of Chicago’s most awesome singers/psalmists, Lawonda Campbell. Sometime ago, Lawonda experienced a medical issue that the doctor said should have taken her out, BUT GOD!! The benefit concert was held at St. James COGIC where Elder W. J. Campbell is the pastor.

Some of Chicago’s greatest artists, pastors and industry officials were present such as Minister Mark Hubbard, Dennis Cole, Pam Morris, Minister Kenny Lewis, The Brown Sisters, Minister Carlis Moody, Pastor Granberry, Pastor Lamont Lenox and many more. The event was hosted by Pastor DeAndre Patterson and Janet Harris-Sutton, the 2008 Verizon Wireless “How Sweet The Sound Winner.”

The evening was filled with music, ministry and celebration. The anticipation turned into high praise when Lawonda Campbell was brought into the event in her wheelchair with her hands lifted. People ran from their seats to hug, kiss and take pictures of Lawonda.

ChicagoGospel.com congratulates Queenie Lenox on coordinating such a successful benefit concert. Our thoughts and continued prayers are with Lawonda Campbell as we continue to believe God for complete healing. We believe the report of the Lord!
